Fall Update on Kate

Fall with my favorite people

‍ Kate’s Cancer Update 💗

Well, it’s been almost 10 weeks since my last chemo, and I’m definitely feeling better!

I lost my eyebrows and eyelashes after my last chemo treatment, but I was warned that could happen. I now go every three weeks for my Herceptin infusion, which feels like a lot less of a time commitment than weekly Taxol. And the best part? No more cold capping! That ended with chemo, too. 🙌

I’d estimate I lost about 15–20% of my hair, so I’d call that a success!

Reconstruction is scheduled for… New Year’s Eve! 🎉 Yep, you read that right! Well, what else was I going to do? Sounds like a good time! 😂

My port stays in until next May, and then I’ll have one more surgery to have it removed.

In the meantime, we’re enjoying the beautiful weather as a family and getting ready for Halloween, one of my favorite holidays! 🎃👻

Taking things one step at a time and enjoying feeling more like myself again.

I’m so grateful to be feeling better, spending time with my family, and getting back to some of the little things that make life feel normal. This journey has definitely had its ups and downs, but I’m taking it one step at a time and celebrating the wins along the way. Thank you all for continuing to follow along, check in, and send so much love and support. It means more than you know!
